Painting Stories - Exhibition of the members of the Hungarian Painters' Society in Csíkszereda
On 24 October, the exhibition of the Hungarian Painters' Society opened in Csíkszereda, where all the exhibited works were made on the wonderful dipped papers produced by the Vinczemill paper-dipping and bookbinding workshop. We received these papers already in the summer to have time to work on them before the October submission. For weeks I took them out every day and just looked at them. I entertained the idea that by painting over them, I would permanently remove the clean beauty and harmony that the beautiful surface of the "blank" paper gives. I painted on other watercolour papers, trying to find a way to destroy this perfection. In the meantime, I also made a complete watercolour series on the test papers and painted a sketchbook with ideas for images.... Finally, the painting below was created at the last minute, on the day of submission, and will be included in the exhibition.
